About the project
Increased youth employability through skilling, innovations, experiential learning and technology transfer.
The overall objective of Sub- Project 5 is to strengthen the capacity of youth entrepreneurs through innovation and skilling. We will reach them through the university or through organizations specialized on youth and youth unemployment. Sub-project 5 strengthens the capacity of the university through the development of training on entrepreneurship and through the strengthening the Centre of Innovations and Technology Transfer and this done through trainings structured as Entrepreneurship Boot camps.
These boot camps are innovative teaching and experiential learning entrepreneurship courses include hands-on skills, coaching, mentorship, feedback, follow-up and twinning with industry/artisans to benefit the youth for gainful employment. Additionally, youth are challenged to use Fifty thousand Ugandan shillings (50,000) to start a business and make profits in just 5 hours.
These trainings have been done in different districts in Western Uganda.
- Starting with Mbarara City; at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST)
- Katukuru Village in Nyakayojo the southern division of Mbarara City.
- Innovation Café at Mbarara University of Science and Technology
- Kaberebere Town council In Isingiro District
- Bwizibwera in Kashari, Mbarara District
- Nyakasharu in Rubirizi Town Council Rubirizi District.
