MUST IUC UCoBS sub-project 5 Mentees Shine at Youth Connekt Summit in Kigali

Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) is proud to celebrate the success of its students and team from the MUST IUC UCoBS Sub-project 5, who recently participated in the Youth Connekt 2024 Summit held in Kigali, Rwanda.

This incredible opportunity, made possible through the generous support of UNDP in partnership with MUST and UCoBS Sub-project 5, showcased the power of innovation and collaboration in shaping the future.

Among the vibrant delegation were five talented students who represented MUST with groundbreaking projects:

  • Mwebasa Peter, championing the MOSQUILL team, which focuses on innovative mosquito repellent solutions.
  • Miriam Kababiito, leading The e-VHT, a digital platform improving health service delivery.
  • Aaron Etyang, presenting the Smart KUKU Brooder, an automated solution for poultry farming.
  • Wycliff Kazooba, showcasing Electro DIY Innovation and its locally-made electronic solutions.
  • Bridget Talemwa, introducing the Maternix Project, which addresses critical gaps in maternal healthcare.
  • Miss Keitesi Aisha, representing Agri-Interface Limited, a social enterprise driving innovation in agriculture.

Accompanying the students were key leaders from Sub-project 5:

  • Dr. Tumuhimbise Manasseh, the visionary Team Leader.
  • Dr. Bakashaba Rennie, a dedicated Project Mentor.
  • Miss Keitesi Aisha, the ever-resourceful Project Assistant.

The summit, held in the vibrant city of Kigali, provided a platform for youth from across the continent to connect, inspire, and be inspired. It was an extraordinary experience where ideas were shared, global networks were built, and the creativity of young innovators was celebrated.

This milestone aligns with the goals of MUST’s IUC UCoBS Sub-project 5, which is committed to bridging the gap between academia and industry by nurturing innovation, promoting experiential learning, and transferring skills and technology to empower youth.
